Coffee and smoke breaks are two things I used to hate, because I do not drink coffee and I do not smoke but I found my self filling in repeately all day hour by hour for the same 3 people to smoke and get coffee. Often they would take a smoking break right before the 10 minute break we got at 5, they would have almost 20 minutes while the rest of us had a 10 minute break.

I worked in an office where the boss would take a smoke break once an hour. All the smokers would take a smoke break when the boss did. All us non-smokers had were not pleased.

I have seen workers who took 20 minute smoke breaks every half hour are replaced by the guy who web surfs all day and complains about how the company does things. either way I tend to pick up the slack

I take what I call “Vitamin D breaks” where I go out for a walk and soak in a little bit of sunshine.

When I went on the patch to stop smoking.. I still went out to the smoke pit in the morning and afternoon. Clutched my coffee with both hands in the mornings and had an apple & Babybel in the afternoon. Kept up with all the gossip.
