@surfstuff55, the trick is getting them to not take so much in the first place. When they take more than they can eat, I put the extra in the fridge and serve it to them at the next meal. One thing I do hate is when parents load their kids plate up with food for them, and then get on their case for not eating it all.
When I grew up we didn’t have much though when dad wasn’t laid off we would. We raised our kids this way don’t get big portions stay small and if your full quit. When we dished up we asked what they wanted though one small ladel for different selections. At home I would adjust accordingly and so they would eat something different I would just tell them you won’t like it anyway but just try it. They would find out not bad. Our daughter has to work on her weight constantly and wants to be a fitness trainer sad part where she went doesn’t train in all areas of human kind. Example pregant women to lazy people.
I’ve kept my AC at 83 for the last few months (as hot as I can stand-especially to sleep). Winter I set to 68 when I need any heat at all. Hang all my clothes and linens to dry, and still have a big bill, but I have big pumps on both the pool and waterfall because I like to feel as if I live in a resort ;-)
The only difference here is that there are ACTUALLY starving kids in Africa, while the whole poler bears dying from global warming thing is total BS. The poler bears are doing fine, the ice isn’t melting, AND there is absolutely no correlation between the earth’s temperature and anything that WE are doing in our daily lives. There have been single volcanic eruptions that have shot more ugly emissions into the atmosphere than all of humanity have in the past 100 years. The only thing that this “man-made global warming” myth has done is make more average people more miserable and poor, and demagogues like Al Gore fabulously wealthy.
^ Quite true. There’s no need to lie to your kids like that – just tell them the truth, that wasting electricity costs money – and you’re taking it out of their allowance! That’ll get their attention!!
Our kids love broccoli and spinach. We told them it was “adult” fare and they wouldn’t like it. When they begged to try it, we’d give them just a smidgin. (Those veggies are somewhat bitter for kids.) The smidgin become bigger and bigger until it was a favorite.

Well, turing off the lights will help with the electricity bill as would raising the temperature on the a/c.

In the smmertime, the A/C has to work overtime to rid the house of the heat from the light bulbs.
