imanartisthoney - I agree wholeheartedly. Things have indeed changed. But it’s our own fault for continuing to elect a bunch of worthless lawyers and politicians who do nothing but pass more and more stupid laws to make our lives more difficult than it already its.
I am waiting for the day babies will be whisked straight from the hospital to the “crèche” to the state run school for all children to whatever job the state deems they are fit for. Oh, did I mention any nurturing? That’s because there won’t be any. God bless us all. We are in deep trouble.
We had very few toys. I messed up my first doll by painting “makeup” -and all I had was nail polish, so that one WAS ugly - became the elder queen while the newer doll was the princess. My mom DID make me lots of ball gowns with jewels and sequins, even strapless-though the dolls had no “shape”. My 2 stuffed animals were usually the King and Prince- chubby panda and slim floppy rabbit;-)
Where I live one industry, from Wichita, KS, Hawker Beachcraft is planing to relocate to Louisiana, means two things workers homes will go up for sell or lay-offs for over 7,000 workers, Louisiana is luring Hawker Beachcraft Federal money offering 3 times amount to move there. Federal money Louisiana suppose to use to build up there. I guess Louisiana wants to build up jobs there while Wichita flounders more. Wichita is already hiring.
Hey, Barbie Millicent Roberts first appeared on this earth in March 1959, which makes her 51 years old. She is the daughter of George and Margaret Roberts from Willows, Wisconsin. She may be rather old, but not quite as old as shown here. Unless she was a big druggie…
But we had more fun making up our own stories, and (my sisters at least) sewing their own doll clothes–now there’s a dangerous “toy”, with no end of sharp needles and such.
No, I was just going by Wiki…It all happened before I was born (…just…). Besides, there are three kinds of mathematicians: those who can count (and subtract) and those who can’t. And it should be obvious which type I am…

Yes, we wouldn’t want our kids to use their heads and thinking for themselves.

Somehow we survived. And done good.

Dry I have my Barbie from roughly the same vintage, but she got a nose job when a mouse got into the cottage. Skipper did too. :-(
