I can answer Coyoty‘s question. Start when they’re very young kittens. Put the harness on them before they go outside. Make it the only way they go outside. Then a couple of years later when you get the harness out, they run. For the door of course and they are happy to wear the harness so they can go outside (on a leash of course).

To StelbelI think it is the Squirrel Alliance supplying arms to the Cats of Catopia. It is all part of their evil plan to dominate all bird feeders. Arm the cats, take out the dogs, frees squirrels to raid bird feeder without dog interference, birds weaken, becoming food for cats. Win Win for all. Except dogs and birds. But not to fear. The dogs have a plan. You see recently new stuff is available on ebay. SAM 6’s, Stingers, Triple AAA 37mm guns mounts, all avaiable for selling to the highest bidders. Just Scooter is still trying to draw down on the cat. If only he could clear his holster.

I keep telling myself to start writing down some of the dates when memorable things happen here, but I never do. I knew that the Feline/Canine hostilities happened this past summer, but not exactly when, so I started at June 1st and didn’t find it until the end of July. Nothin’ magic about it…just good ol’ fashioned detective work, ma’am…

Unexpectedly hot…. 105º (F) today, according to some sources…

Most of us around here have no air conditioning.

Luckily, our evenings almost always drop into the low 60’s, and into the low 50’s by dawn.

Anyhow…. Marg is safely away… no need for rescue….

With a full crew of privateers and dogs, and a zebra (somewhat overlapping,) for protection, you’d think he’d be safe from a motley assortment of cats…

But they are sneaky, those felines!

Phun phact… Dalmatians were bred to run under/beside the fire wagon, not on it.

Here’s a little story for ya.

Many moons ago (ok years) I was an assistant dog trainer in basic class. One man had a year old dalmation that was totally out of control. The lead trainer suggest that he exercise the dog before coming to class. Next class, same thing. It wasn’t unusual for handlers to ignore her so she asked him if he had in fact exercised his pup before class. “We played fetch for half an hour. Went on a 2 mile run. Then a 6 mile bike ride. I don’t know about him, but I need a nap.”
