8-track dates from the mid-1960âs. Reel-to-reel is quite a bit older (1930âs/40âs.) The tapes sheâs holding appear to be cassettes â also mid-60âs.

I think 8-tracks go way back (sounds like Mr Peabody) in to the 60s.
8 tracks on a looped magnetic tape, two tracks per program.
