Since when was this declared ‘crap’ on North Dakota Day?Nebraska is just as flat. Before anyone says anything—I’m from Illinois.

I’d never heard of Anton’s Syndrome before. The idea that someone could be mentally unaware that they are blind is just so bizarre. I mean, how could that happen? You’d think the total lack of any visual input would be a dead giveaway.

Anton’s sounds like the reverse of blindsight, in which people who insist they can’t see show evidence to the contrary.

Illinois has a lot of flat land also, I just happen to live near the Mississippi River where the hills and hollers are and the erosion.

Anton’s Syndrome may be related to anosognosia, a condition in which a person who suffers disability seems unaware of the existence of his or her disability. It is most often seen in the terminally stupid.
