Rip Haywire by Dan Thompson for October 15, 2012
Transcript:
Man: Something's out there, in the forest! Do you know the super friends? I think it was Solomon Grundy! Rip: I don't have time to Wikipedia those references. Get to the point! Man: He tore that dude limb from limb - it was heinous! Misty: Yipe. Man: This is Jeremiah Johnson - level sacred land to the local natives. Something lives here, and it ain't human! RJ: Whatever is out there made that dude bat-guano crazy! Rip: His obscure allusions are driving me crazy! He knows we can't get a WiFi signal out here!

It’s tough to follow obscure cultural references without a search engine and Wikipedia. However, these really aren’t that obscure.

I didn’t require Wikipedia to get references in today’s strip. Granted, I have extensive knowledge of comic books and animation. Further, I’ve seen “Jeremiah Johnson”. Long movie.
