In sports or economic matters competition is part of the process and there is no choice but to compare yourself to others. But as a general principle, one’s own feeling of accomplishment and self-worth should come from within, not from others.
Climbing Mt. Everest is a feat regardless of who has done it before. Heart’s accomplishment is her own and she should be proud of it for herself, not in the mistaken notion she was first.
