Isn’t a cowlick a block of salt?

i always thought a block of salt was just a block of salt, and a salt lick was a place where pioneers used to obtain salt for use on the farm.

Eew…I grew up on a dairy farm and I can’t imagine being cow licked.

Dagwood, now there is a couple of cowlicks for you. In fact this morning his barber wanted to cut them off. Of course he would have none of that.

When our niece was small my sister would recite a poem to her: There was a little girl who had a little cowlick, right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was bad she was very, very bad, but when she was good she was horrid.

Our niece was not pleased with this corrupt version!
