    I’ve learned to never tell a bank that I need the money, but instead that I want it. They are more likely to lend you the cash if you seem like you are just gonna blow it on a vacation or something, rather than needing it for something important.

    It is a reputedly true story that the fellow who started Johnson’s Products, makers of Afro-Sheen, George E. Johnson, went to the bank to borrow money to start his business, and they refused him.But when he came back later and said he needed the money for a vacation, they lent him the money happily.
