Adam: Now this would be a cool job to have. Laura: Doodling? Adam: Sort of. I'm trying my hand at drawing a comic strip based on our family. With the economy being what it is, it's good to have something to fall back on. Who knows, I might get lucky and end up doing this professionally for 25 years. Laura: Is that supposed to be me? Adam: Uh-huh. Laura: Why are my thighs and butt so large?! *stomp stomp stomp stomp*

This is great. To me, this is the most imaginative Adam I have seen in years. I love her look when she sees the cartoon. She looks like a cross between a grasshopper and an iguana.

And yes, I know that this is a Brian Basset illustration. It’s just plain good!

Congratulations, Brian, on 25 years of Adam, at home or elsewhere!
For a species that counts on a 5-digit hand, multiples of 5 have a particular strength. Maybe that’s why you decided to hand off Adam to Bob Harrell. He’s a great cartoonist too and I’m sure he’ll do you and Adam proud.

I love this one because it borrows from Calvin and Hobbes. Brian Basset is not only a great cartoonist, but he has discriminating taste.

I’m afraid I have to say I prefer Brian Basset as the artist. I couldn’t figure out what had happened to Adam and Laura- they don’t look well. (sorry about this, but it’s true.)

information, Brian only does the Sunday strips now, and I think that will end soon as well. He’s putting all his efforts into Red & Rover, another GREAT strip.
M.B. give Mr. Harell a chance! He die a great job with “The Big Top”. Sure it looks different but look how many strips have transitioned from one cartoonist to another and are still going strong!

Since you are a cat, you can’t be that bad. I’ll give him a chance, I just like the expressions Bassets draws better. The jokes are comparable though.
