With all the leaves’ stems, that must be painfully annoying.

What is this obsession with removing leaves and grass cutting from lawns? Is everyone living on a golf course? I have a mulching lawn mower that deposits the clippings where they land. I let the leaves fall where they may (though I sweep them off the walkways).

dump’em on the garden plot for mulching, then cover w/cardboard held down by big rocks and you’ll have a wonderful planting bed come spring

Give ’em all to me for compost and weed control! What a waste to bag them. Although I do worry about our landfills being unbalanced without any good composty stuff to help break it down.

Reminds me of what I did last weekend: I lined the back of my minivan, piled the leaves in and hauled two loads “packed to the gills.” Also hauled two pickup loads. Some of us have to get the leaves off. In my are we have trees. And the leaves blow in from other yards. They lay deep (like snow, over a foot deep in places). Try to use a mulcher: it will bog down in two feet and quit. Even the mulch would bury the yard. One reason I don’t care for autumn: having to ‘shovel’ the leaves.

A nice custom, but here it costs $100 a year to be a yard waste site (neighbors can share the cost) and $1.50 for each bag. Burn, baby, burn!
