Bixby: See ya, Fritz. Fritz: You're leaving? Bixby: Yeah, so? Fritz: It's only 2:30! Bixby: Don't be such a petty clock-watcher! It doesn't inspire anything but spite! I've finished everything! Had to do so I'm going, okay? Bixby: So have a good weekend. Fritz: It's Wednesday!!

See, this is original run of The Jetsons, pure and simple. Catch it on Boomerang, both the original ‘60s run and then the new ’80s run, and see what I’m getting at. In the ‘80s George actually worked a five day work week, which he complains about, and made a wage that was believable. In the ’60s you had one episode where they reveal the work week is only three days long, four or five hours a day, and others where it’s suggested George makes several thousand dollars a day and he’s just barely making minimum wage. And remember Spacely was a slave driver. Well Fritz isn’t exactly a slave driver but Bixby sure makes it clear it’s Jetson’s time with just a three day work week.

“Now if you’ll excuse me, Wednesday is Hump Day…”
“But it’s just another date!”
“And it being Hump Day, that’s what I have to find.”
