I stopped by the Tiki last night when I got home…. didn’t know whether anybody noticed me sitting in the corner…. <

but there was some very nice music…thanks Red, and X, and you too, Bev…But I think I caught a cold or something. I could hardly stay awake all day, so it’ll be an earlier than usual night for me, too…I feel the way Tony’s birdbath looks.

Meanwhile…Yeah, we have to have Halloween!

Do we ever pass up a chance to wear costumes?

I can make decorated cupcakes, of course….um… I think Storm has enough cheezwhiz already… but we should of course ask her before assuming.

Oooh Storm…. do they still make the pineapple kind?

When I was a kid we drank out of juice glasses that had originally held various flavors of Cheez Whiz.

My favorite was pineapple…. a white, sticky, pineapple flavored spread that somehow…. sigh…

I guess no longer sounds edible….But maybe for old times sake…

    As for the edit function….

it sounds good… but what I read…. and I thought x_Tech was one of the ones who said it…. was that people were going back and changing the content of their posts.

You know, being the “first” to say something or make a joke when they weren’t, altering comments to look like they “didn’t” say what they were being “falsely accused” of saying….

I don’t know how much it matters… but then, I’m not on a bunch of politically and otherwise contentious forums where people argue over such stuff.

I meant to apologise to Red…. didn’t mean to pick on you last night, honestly.I’m just such a fan of Mahagonny and Lotte Lenya.

And one of the things that gives “Alabama Song” its strange flavor is that it was written and sung in English by a German-speaking lyricist, for a German audience…so it’s a bit off-kilter.

Oh…. and Bev…. sleep well…. the jay has plenty to drink…just not much bathing room. He’ll have to be a dirty bird.

Good evening…uh morning…whatever. We interrupt this regularly scheduled BS to bring you…..(trumpet sounds) Halloween Horror quiz show!!…. (applause, woo hoos and whistles)….I used to do this all the time and some people tried to choke…..I mean loved it! Yes indeed….loved…it…anyway, here it is. I give you a horror quote and you tell me what movie it is from. NO CHEATING!! This time Google is NOT your friend. Just mind. Not only that but THEN change the quote and insert your own twist to it.

……For example, every slasher movie has this quote. “I’ll go check it out!” followed by them getting torn to bits by a zombie that moves slower than a snail. If this were a unique quote, tell me which movie, and then twist it. “I’ll go check that really scary noise that I know is going to kill me but since I’m a total idiot I must.” Okay that was bad but you get it. A one liner, try to keep it as one. But, if you got something good. Let her rip! Sometimes literally! I will give you a quote in a few minutes. If this is boring, tell me and I will go suck on cheese whiz and play with my doll that talks to me.

pcolli is rightSome of the worst chewing outs I have received were from kids playing COD MWIII. Man can they carry on. I thought a bunch of drunkin sailors could cuss. I was I will admit it impressed and told them so. They had these high squeaky pre pubense voices barking out cuss words like a drill sergeant. Ermy would be proud of them. They could make a marine blush. What I like the most was to smoke one of them in the game and hear them squeal like a sissy girl. Then call me names and try to come back. I hand them their butt again. Squeal and cuss louder this time. So if you have kids and they play anything online and you are not in the room. You may be surprized.Remember the Song from Grateful DeadTouch of Gray.“Cow is giving Kerosene, kid cant read at 17. The words he knows are all obscenebut (like me) its all right. I will get by. I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.”Sing together folks“WE WILL GET BY!!!!!”“WE WILL SURVIVE.”

Hey Monkey … good to see you! Red too….

Are you guys gonna play for us?

I’ve been longing for some yak ribs, the whole time I was away….staying with a vegetarian for heaven’s sake. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

But a plate of ribs, a banana daiquiri and some music from two of my favorite guitar players…wow…. that would be living!

So…. dunno whether I mentioned where I was going, or have been…But one reason I went out of town was that an old friend(long story) had bought two tickets for himself and another friend to see Bob Dylan, (!!) Thursday night in San Francisco, and when that friend couldn’t go, he invited me to go with him instead!!

He kindly let me stay at his place the nights before and after…. it was really something.

The sound system was set up so that the band was incredibly loud (earsplitting, to me,) so you could barely hear the vocals, much less make out any lyrics…We didn’t know whether it was done to purposely hide Dylan’s aging and gravelly voice, or just to make people feel like they were getting their money’s worth in power instrumentals….

but people were really griping about it afterward.

But I’ve been a Dylan fan for so many years and had never seen him live…to me it was a great experience and a cultural marker I’m glad I didn’t miss.

And besides, Mark Knopfler did a great hour as his opening act… much better than I expected.

I didn’t post about it before cos I was still kinda distilling the experience.

Repoc. We better find something else better than Mexico. Way too dangerous. Figi island, Key West Florida (I know they cant drive but I can dodge).True story. Was sent to the Border for some special duty. Enforcing laws.Assisted in a pursuit. Drug load trying to get back to the river to bail. Crashed just near the edge. Driver and passenger bailed and dove into the river. I was right behind. Got out with my M4 assault rifle and approached the river edge. They were swimming away. Suddenly a series of shots rang out tearing though the leaves on the trees just over my head. I could tell it was AK heard them in Nam alot. Military training kicked in. I returned fire as I could tell about where the shots came from. As I fired I pulled back letting copper and lead shield me. Had to fill out reports. Got some heat from the FEDS about it saying what would happen if I had hit the bad guy and killed him. I said he was on the Mexican side let them figure it out.I have not been sent back since. No one and I mean no takes pots shots at me and I just run away. Texas Troopers stand our ground.
