Turing Test As early as 1950, British mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing had developed a method for detecting a computer's capability for intelligent behavior! The Indus River dolphin swims on its side! Russian millionaire Pavel Durov inadvertently started fights in the streets of St. Petersburg when he made paper airplanes out of 5000 ruble notes ($160) and through them from his office window!

you sent me off to wiki!
Apparently, the Apple logo was not designed as a tribute to Turing, but Steve Jobs said he wished they had thought of that.

I am going to have to read up on this Turing fellow. Sounds like an interesting dude.

I was never able to check this out, but there was a story once about a group of engineers that programmed a computer they were designing to design its own improvements. Requests for components soon followed, and they realized how it would be improved. The transistors, resistors, ICs, capacitors and PC boards were ordered, but when it requested (4) 7.50 X 15s they pulled the plug!!
