I always used the small blade on a knife my grandfather gave me. The blade was only about one inch long, but it was very thin and could be sharpened to a razor edge easily. It even had a nice point to it that was sharp on two sides, making it easier to dig out the deep splinters without making large cuts.Tweezers work, but can sometimes cause the splinter to break off. If not noticed, it can fester and become infected, possibly meaning a trip to a doctor.
