Around 40 years ago the local FM station had a slogan Use An Accordion, Go To Jail They had bumper sticker and even gave out tee-shirts. A couple of years later they started playing music by Buckwheat Zedico. The station denied the slogan but we still had the Tees.
my Granpa played and his was passed on to me. It was beautiful but I finally gave it to my sister in law because she could actually play it and I could not.
Walter Ostanek – Canada’s Polka King. He has a website, youtube videos, the works. .Sorry. But Mr Cochran is taking us on to the polka dance floor… I had no choice but to google. :)

I used to love Judy Tenuta. She had too many great catchphrases to even begin here… but didn’t she call her accordion her I.U.D.?

Occasionally, I do like accordion music. International fare from France, Mexico, and Germany are known to have accordions in their folk music.

Don’t forget the downside: You will have to fight off all the accordion player groupies.

I had a friend with an accordian and I enjoyed learning to play on it. Never accomplished but it was fun, and it’s a good sound.
