Sheesh, Schroeder, that was mean. Lucy finally shows an interest in your biggest passion, and that’s the thanks she gets? Even she doesn’t deserve that!
Wow, this one is kinda sad. You can see right here why Lucy is so crabby all the time. She reaches out nicey-nice like, and gets shot down. I mean, why make the effort at all if it ends like that? I hope Schroeder gets a big electric static shock when he goes back to the piano and touches those keys. I know adults who act like this. Schulz must have, too.
@briatollah:Freude schoner Tochter aus Ullysium, wir betreten feurtrunken, himmlisch dein Heiligtum, deine Zauber binden wieder was die Mode streng geteilt, alle Menschen werden Brueder wo dein sanfter Fluegel weilt….My all time favourite piece of classical music, must have listened to it a hudnred times!

Back in those days, the male had to do all of the legwork in a courtship.

Wow Lucy wasn’t crabby for 8 panels

I find it very proper.

That’s one way to get her off the phone. But you’ll probably still need ear plugs to block the bawling.
Cajtri87 about 12 years ago
I can’t even imagine a time when that would have been true! But it is nice to know a panel written the same year my mother was born is still funny!

Being a 1965 strip, this has 2 things:
Record players long before CD players and MP3 players/iPods.A dial phone long before touch tone phones even with caller ID.flagfly about 12 years ago
Face it, girl…he can’t stand you!
Phosphoros about 12 years ago
More specifically, it’s not proper for Lucy to call on Schroeder – at all. Schroeder is another German hero.
i_am_the_jam about 12 years ago
It was this strip that made my brother and me think that all of the Peanuts gang was born, or had their parents born, in Germany.
Though I never understood why girls shouldn’t call guys….

Oh man I would’ve love it if a girl called me at his age. Times certainly have changed since more girls take the initiative to call the boy 1st.

Bonn was the capitol of West Germany back in the Iron Curtain days.

Awwwww… Poor Lucy!
I love Beethoven’s music… I found it inspiring when he became deaf and yet he still carried on with his compositions.
I’m normally against Lucy when she picks on poor Linus and criticises Charlie Brown, but not this time.
LOL… Still funny though.

Wow, Lucy wasn’t being crabby! Why isn’t it proper for a girl to call a boy on the telephone?

I wonder why Lucy is so crabby..She’s just being her
regular self..Though it is true that back then it was
considered unladylike behavior to call a boy.
