Our cat and dog both know to stay off the furniture. We have a stuffed easy chair that is exclusively the dog’s. the cat has her own furniture, and we humans have ours. There is still the routine as above, for different reasons though, and not quite so formal.
I’ve always had hairy and/or white pets. First one was a very white calico then it was an all white dog. Finally got a dark cat, but still had the white dog. Dog now is brown with a white undercoat, so guess which fur color always shows up on the clothes! ;) Same with the cats! Dark with white tummies. ;)

I don’t need to check! Everyone we know has pets! They don’t even notice!

If I ever heard my grandmother asking my grandfather to “check out her rear end”, I’d probably not wish to visit again shudders

I don’t know your grammy, but that is still a disturbing image, I’m not sure ironing will erase it!

@ Gwen & Taz: just wait until you are that age. I don’t like it, either, that my skin has taken a southernly route & can’t afford a butt-lift.

One of my favorite comic strips and one of the comics I read on a daily basis. Reminds me of my folks…
