Sluggo: How about a school holiday party with decorated fake trees and wreaths and snowmen? Nancy: Or we could do it all up in tie-dye and black lights and peace signs and beatles posters and Nancy Sinatra. It's more NOW---It's more WOW-- It's more GEAR---It's more POW. Sluggo: WHAT are you say-ing? Nancy: I don't know--- Aunt Fritzi is playing a lot of 1960s stuff lately.

Clearly none of you were there. ‘Fab gear’ meant that you were wearing cool clothes. Gear has always meant clothes or equipment.

You can get by with decorating a school with black lights and peace signs and Beatles posters, but don’t even think about Christmas decorations unless you want to get expelled.

If you remember the 60’s perhaps you weren’t really there.

By the 70’s it was “FAR OUT”, or “COOL”.

Ah, yes, the Nehru shirts (and jackets)….I loved my wide wale bell-bottomed corduroy pants! And my Leisure suits!
