I can agree. The really sad part is we do want our leaders to lie to us and we punish them when they don’t.
Good leaders are usually good liars. In the right context (negotiations, motivational speeches, etc.) being a little creative with the truth can be a good thing.
It’s like George Burns is supposed to have said about show business: The key to success is sincerity. Once you can fake that, you’ve got it made.
