Richard's Poor Almanac by Richard Thompson for February 03, 2014
Transcript:
february 3rd is the birthday of america's favorite artist!! norman rockwell the lost works "berry pickin'" 1929. rockwell's rendering of the berry patch is so naturalist that a bluejay flies in the window & plants it-self smack into the canvas. "spoiled tabby" 1934. in a mistaken frenzy, a local terrier shreds this composition of some tots pushing a kitten around in a baby carriage. "home to roost" 1939. somehow wild ferrets get in & devour this painting of chickens right down to the stretcher bars. "ice cream social" 1947. the little kid next door licks half the paint off before anybody can stop him. he's ok, but goodbye masterpiece. "thanksgiving: 1956. rockwell himself scrapes the entire meal-turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing & 3 kinds of pie-off the canvas with his palette knife & gobbles it down. now that's art!

All of these canvases can now be found in some guy’s barn, and are work half-a-mil each. What are you waiting for?

Great caricature of Rockwell, who was a much greater artist than the Saturday Evening Post covers let on.
