@Gweedo MurrayGweedo Murray said, about 19 hours agoYouāre welcome, Sweetness ! I talked with Ken at length last night. It was good ! He said he had 33 working days left ātil retirement. He will take some time off before looking for a less stressful job. Didnāt do anything on the wall or window yesterday though I have the new stuff painted and ready. The furnace room is in the walkout basement as it would normally be, down below, in a normal living situation. I am adding additional sound proof tiling to the walls which makes for a nice quiet when the furnace runs. When I first got here it was like a large train rumbling through the living room to where you had to turn your music up too loud in order to hear it. .The next door neighbor has a mercury vapor yard light on a pole that is obnoxiously bright and has been a mild irritation to Joe and I. The old boy, Jim, died a few years back and the wife, Marge, has recently gone to some kind of old age home. The house sits empty, for the time being. Joe and I confabbed yesterday and decided to take matters into our own hands. We took the extension ladder over to the garage, where the light is mounted on a pole on the roof and put on a homemade diverter cone with some Gorilla brand tape. Last night was nice and dark outsideā¦. for a change. Donāt know how long it will last when family comes around to do whatever at the place, but itās good for now. .Ginger is after all, a homegrown (to you) talent.
Best of Luck to Ken for getting a less stressful job and I hope he enjoys his retirement.
Glad you managed to get everything prepared. The sound proof tiling āsoundsā pretty interesting. So does the furnace room.
I wouldnāt like to face that bright yard light myself. I hope it doesnāt bother you now that you have moved it.
Do you still play your CDs while driving? Which ones do you have?
Sorry to hear about Jim by the way.
Again, your comment was an interesting and fun read.
Pet ā¦ two people/groups come to mind instantlyā¦.Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Charlie Danielsā¦(I can hear the Devil went down to Georgia in my head even as I type this)ā¦and man, Skynryd could play anything and have us all hanging on itā¦and ZZ Top is another group that had a lot of country soul to them (they played at our high school prom and I was hooked)ā¦speaking of hookā¦Dr Hook had a country soul based sound as wellā¦maybe I am remembering wrong, but I do remember hearing them on country and rock stations in Texasā¦
I didnāt recall Mary as being such a flirtā¦. I take it Jackie told the Police that she conveniently āLeft to visit relatives in the USAā; taking a page from Dr. Crippen! (Hint to Scotland Yard Detective squad: Look in Jackieās {wine} cellar)

Since two negatives make a positive, do bad acoustics plus bad guitar playing equal a good sound?
Godfreydaniel about 12 years ago
@SandfanOr as Oscar Wilde once said, āA terrible play saved by a terrible performance.ā

And there she is, Jackās (former? ex? dead?) Wife, Mary
