ALMOST like Ralphie of “A Christmas Story” not getting his Red Rider BB rifle. They didn’t notice close enough.

last xmas, the twitter rants from teens was unbelievably funny. teens hating mom and dad for not getting them what they want. that the white iphone is somehow worse than the black iphone. that getting a car from uncle is not the same as getting a fully loaded lexus. or, the blue color vw beetle is worse than getting a yellow vw beetle. can’t wait for this year’s twitter rants from teens.

Someone once said this to me “FAILURE Affects Us ALL!!”.-The “You’re Lucky… (Argument)” is just a POOR EXCUSE for not Listening, saying “WHO CARES”. All the while, Parents EXPECT their kids to listen to them when they THEMSELVES don’t even Listen to their kids and STILL EXPECTS them to KEEP THEIR GRADES UP and Pay Attention/Listen in Classes…?!-Did it ever occurred to anyone when someone SPECIFY in detail and wants a SPECIFIC-SPECIFIC item, It’s like giving and getting Blood just NOT the SPECIFIC Blood-type! Sure, it’s all just Blood to you and me but if it doesn’t matches the one it’s for… That would result in NEGLIGENCE on the part of the party who is responsible.-Another example, Customer-Service, if you DO NOT DELIVER according to the client/customer’s expectations, you’ve Lost Money, FAILED and maybe Fired!-It’s setting a bad example, may as well say, “If you screw-up, nobody cares, I sure don’t and neither should you!” to all children.- But HEY, if you’re LOW-Standards, NO-Standards and AIM-TO-DISAPPOINT is your thing, you DOOM everyone and yourself to a whole world of Disappointments, Failures and being Cheated, some more severe than others… Just don’t come anywhere near me with any of that and expect me to take it…-Have a very Merry X’mas and a Happy New Year!!

@ sandra mackin & legaleagle:actually, I think Zero-Gabrial has a point there. It is one thing to not get something because it’s unaffordable, too much, unreasonable or just not something the person giving the gift wants you to have. It’s a completely different thing to not get something you specifically wanted and get something “almost like it, but still wrong” instead. Just because the other person didn’t care enough, and could not be botheerd to get it right. That’s a lack of being cared about, and a very good reason to be disappointed.

And seriously – do you ever complain about anything? I bet you do. Well, that’s just as ungreatful. There’s always someone worse off. Even if you’re aware of that – no one manages to be happy with everything, all the time.

My 10-year-old daughter wanted one specific thing for Christmas: a “Monster High” Cleo doll. While she and her sister were opening their gifts, she greeted every other gift with enthusiasm and gratitude. When (she thought) we were done, my husband asked her if she got everything she wanted. She smiled & said, “Almost”, with no sign of regret or disappointment. It was then that we gave the girls their final gifts: not only did we get Cleo for her, but we got her sister (who also loves “Monster High”) Cleo’s sister! They were so surprised and happy, but I was still proud of the attitudes they showed earlier.

Actually, some real he-man athletes would be flattered to get “Jock-of-the-Loom” supporters instead of ordinary clothing.

@legaleagle48Funny you should mentioned “Pony” in your comment. Cause, a package carrying a set of 2-inch tall MLP is on it’s way as we speak… You got to LOVE eBay, you can check the merchant’s credibility rating and the really good ones… AIM to Please. And lastly, “Spoiled Brat” not so much, more along the lines of Quality-Control Inspector/Inquisitor/Officer/Agent, my actual job by the way…-@sandra mackinI said what I said for all those suffering in silence. “The Real Truth”, I don’t dispute the fact that there are people around the world who are without or have nothing but I am not responsible for their misfortune as I’m sure neither are you. Also, “Christmas is unimportant” to me, are you kidding?? You have no idea how REALLY IMPORTANT CHRISTMAS IS TO ME on so many levels. -@L NelsonFair enough, Sure the Credit Card was inappropriate. But Hey, nobody mentioned (but they could have) anything about an “Extra Warning” attached to it… like “Purchases via Credit Card are subject to Parental Approval”, who knows…As for the “can’t get everything you want” part, not meeting expectations… Sure, if you and your children can keep a stiff-upper-lip, great! But here’s something, I had the misfortune of working with certain people who to this very day still owe me money. They kept saying, tomorrow and tomorrow became this weekend and this weekend became Next and Next and Next and Next and… You get the idea.-@skessaHey THANKS for your support!! You sound like a reasonable reliable person (with standards). GOOD! People will not squander their in trust you. I wish you MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR and may Fortune smile upon you more often…-Finally…Peter, Jam that thing all you want… OUTSIDE and far away from the house.Paige, the fine-print on the Credit Card says “$500 Limit”, use it sparingly.Jason, Launch that bad-boy… OUTSIDE and far away from the house, in a secluded open area.-Once more… MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR and Peace and Happiness to one and all, may you all find your heart’s desire!!

Reminds me of that picture online where a girl is bawling her head off that she wanted a white 32 gig ipod and got a 16 gig black ipod instead … and the lower half shows a third-world teenager using plastic soda bottles for shoes … little dramatic but gets the point across.
