Cats don’t usually get human illnesses. I know I’ve kissed my cats when I’ve been sick. Don’t know about Carmen, but having a cat snuggled next to me is comforting.

Poncho, having the cats with her will comfort her and as WDemBlk said, cats don’t get human illnesses or vice versa.
