I have a feeling that Canadian readers might not like that. I used to take frequent business trips to Toronto; while there, I never used the term “American” and always referred to the US as “the states”. Jays fans in particular will be annoyed.
It was Vineland before it was America, and you gotta wonder what the first ones over the Bering ice bridge called it, when they saw how far they still had to go to get to San Diego.
I still like the thought of an ancient Tlingit ancestor coming down the coast of Alaska after crossing the Bering land bridge, and having to listen to his kids asking “Are we there yet?”

I hate to say this, but the Expos are no longer in MLB. There is only ONE Canadian team left.
Perhaps Her Maj would be interested in the ‘09 World Baseball Classic which starts March 5th in Tokyo. ESPN will have coverage.

stpatme, there’s a team in Vancouver, the Canadians. Granted, it’s minor league, not MLB, but it’s stil pro ball.
