Yes, itās an honor. And you can see how well Burl is progressing in his recovery from the ankle injury.I womder if Burl has some really, really incriminating photos of someone. Else why does he still have a job?
This has very little to do with TDS other than perhaps the other day they were discussing the weather but rather my late-night musing about winter along the Texas Gulf Coast. Seasonal temps are in the 40ās to 60ās, which means we can actually spend time outdoors without the heat, humidity and mosquitoes. No West Nile virus, no St. Louis Encephalitis and no 94 deg and 94% combo! During the summer we want to send the Vatican a petition nominating Willis Carrier for sainthood.I do rather get a kick out of the flossy home and garden mags showing folks sitting around a copper fire pit sipping a limited production California Pinot Noir from Riedel glasses, and while theyāre three feet from the fire, the smoke isnāt choking them out. Who lives like that? Iāll admit Iām not a ātwo-buck chuck in a paper cupā guy, but really. Anyway, itās nice and I enjoy it.
I have to admit to some befuddlement myselfā¦.First, where IS this guy?The speech ballooon seems to be coming from the person at the tableā¦ but that looks like Daleā¦. and Marlene is talking about when Burl takes āUSā to dinner, as though Dale is sitting next to her.So the regional manager either looks like Dale, and the real Dale isnāt in the pictureā¦or heās is sitting somewhere behind Joyā¦. but she seems to be at the end of the table.
As for the Find-It the finials are all I see tooā¦. but usually a normal part of the picture doesnāt count.
So maybe yesterday a picture and no clue, today a clue and no picture?
Mikie ā there are people around hereā¦ not in my social circleā¦who have outdoor fireplaces, chimeneas and the likeā¦and the reason they donāt choke is that the cold night wind of Northern CA whips the smoke away.
Got to be Burlās bossā¦.Joy doesnāt wear her good cologne for just any event..Isnāt that Ma cracking wise about the expense account? And maybeā¦..just maybeā¦ā¦Burl is trying to fix Ma up with his boss (new Boss?; new āpicturesā needed) to reatain his position in the UStore it corporate hierarchy.
True, nothing there seems appropriate for an āhonored guestā and all of the speech bubbles seem a little misdirected. Joy seems to like that as her favorite scent. (washing is better, but even her clothes just get a rinse).
I have a little owl shaped chiminea back home (never lit a fire in it). I just got dressed when he did this morning (right after washing breakfast dishes) and heās taking me over to visit at former employerās after his first call. I checked in during night earlier, but just briefly at BS.
Today the Daily Herald announced it will be dropping 3 of 5 comicsā¦ and adding 3 new onesā¦.They want our help in picking the 3 to be droppedā¦ .One of their nominations is TDSā¦ They say it is offensive to some seniors. I donāt agree but I will suggest they drop it because it is only in B&W and is so small that you canāt get the detail. I came to the internet when they shrunk it by 1/2 the last redesignā¦..I hope JULIE does not drop the detail we loveā¦ to please the papersā¦. ! ! !
Itās a bit of an eye strain, but I think I can make out the āfind itā on the right side of Burlās neck in the woodwork. I too think the person on the right is Marlene. Ma is distinguishable because she always seems to have āgathersā in her neck.
I get the impression that this is a re-use of an old panel, because the āguestsā look very much like Dale and Marlene. BTW, I canāt find the āFind Itā either, so . . .
