A friend of mine is an exceptionally clean person, but she has no problems with her cats walking all over the kitchen benches.I am not squeamish, but I can’t stomach her preparing me food.
Use strips of two- faced sticky tape to keep your cats off the counter. After a while they will stop getting up there because they don’t liike the feel of the tape on their feet. I also put strips on my flower pots to keep them from digging in the dirt.
As mlong as Rose Is Rose has been running Peekaboo is no longer a “Kitten” ergo, he, or she, is not in violation of the directive. Give a cat a loophole and they will leap through it.
Yeah my family has the same problem with one of our cats. She will jump on the counter and not get off even when you yell at her to get off. She just sits there and stares at you like we can’t tell her what to do. Caught her on the counter this morning and yelled at her. Then I picked her up from the counter and said no straight to her face. Never listens anyway when we do that.
Loved my cats, but since they’ve gone over the bridge I’ve gone back to making homemade pie crust. There is only so much cleaning and watching you can do. The microwave (not turned on) was the vault

Someone once tried to put a cat on the counter. The cat just kept getting off…

Peekaboo is right. You can’t just tell a cat what to do and claim it’s an “understanding.”

I wish it was possible to keep cats off “forbidden surfaces.” There are so many things you can’t have if you have cats!

I have no problem with my cats on kitchen counters. I keep them so cluttered that there’s no room for a cat up there.

My cat understood that the kitchen counter, the dining table and the bed were off limits. I miss her.

Pixie had the same ‘understanding’. She didn’t like mint. One dab of Ben-Gay on the counter, one paw print in the Ben-Gay and she never went back.
