In fact, Good Queen Bess used the first person singular quite often in her poetry (ex. âWhen I was fair and young, and favor graceâd meâŠâ) and her speeches, at least as history has recorded them. (âI know I have but the body of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart of a king, and of a king of England, too!â)
