Lost a car and a woman….I don’t know ’bout choo, boy !>>>>>>>>>>>>>Trust me, I grieved more for the loss of the car. This was the wife , who before I met her, went through 5 Corvettes in 4 years… Wrecked ‘em !Her father said when we got married, he wasn’t losing a daughter, just the national debt. – I was too young and stupid to understand what he mean’t … but I learned, real quick !
Hello guys. I just needed to check in and whine a little. I saw the spine surgeon about my lower back yesterday. It looks like the knife for me. This will put us in a bind but God will provide. I’m not looking forward to the surgery, but, happily hoping the out come will relieve the pain I’ve been experiencing. I can’t lean into a task, like under the hood, or simply stand for more than a few minutes. The Doc says I’m a good candidate for the surgery and should havea proper recovery. I pray he is right. I don’t have to have the surgery but the degeneration will continue until I cannot do anything. So, I believe it will be for the best. Anyway, it’ll take some time to set it up and I’ll post when I’ll be away from my computer. As always, I love you guys. And thanks for listening.
Speaking of cars, the one that got away was a beauty. In 1969, I was young dumb and full of ___. I needed a car and had a chance to buy one for 400 dollars and one for 800 dollars. I chose the 400 dollar one. A pretty little BRG Spitfire. It was like an old Harley. Wrench, wrench, wrench. The other was a beautiful 1958 , blue on cream, Corvette, for $800. By the time I got back from ’Nam two years later, I could have sold it, with a bad motor, for over $5000. Today, a rebuildable one is worth more many than some small towns pay their entire city staff. Good Lord, I could use a couple of do overs.
Yeah, 2011 September. I am gonna figure that eldo removed his experiments. I don’t have a problem with random ramblings per se. Without real face to face it’s hard to tell if somebody is having fun or if you are witnessing a meltdown in progress. I did not Flag any of those and believe he had gone back and pulled everything. With the reappearance of Number six; I am now wondering how his new work is going.
Sunny and warm today.
Good day, Gweedo
I have no problem with the ‘ramblings’ either but I try not to do it myself. By the way, I passed on yours, Pcolli’s and Linda Dean’s regards all the way from the Jan 19 strip onto Number Six in an email and he appreciated them a lot.
So when you’re ready to thank me for travelling all that way though the strips to find your regards then just give me a buzz (Joke) No thanks needed.
I did have a good day…Thank you! I hope you did also.
I have a smaller version of a garden gnome ( a present from my gf) that sits on my dresser in my bedroom, protecting three shamrocks, one cactus, and a poinsettia. He doesn’t say much, either………..
@MikeyjNice gnome, and nice (though disturbing…) Andee Capp the model from the other day. When do we get to read more of the adventures of Andy Capplumbus?
Gweedo I forget who provided the link to Eldo’s profile page, but it’s still there, and he is still commenting. The last ones I’ve seen, seem more logical but still long. I think maybe it was Linquist that provdied the link, a day or two ago. Go back and look and then bookmark it. I’m assuming Eldo can see our comments like Joe could.
It was the lovely and talented pun wizard Susan Sunshine who posted the link to Eldo’s profile yesterday. I don’t know Eldo very well, and was actually (and wrongly, as it turned out) thinking that somebody had hacked into his account. I did always enjoy the “old Eldo” quite a bit, and I hope that IF he needs help that he will get it.
The powers that be must be messing with his profile page as well, because his latest comments are gone. I have read posts later than 10 hours ago, and now it shows 10 hours, and some of the ones I saw a couple of hours ago were more recent than that and now they are gone. and there was really nothing wrong with them at all except being a bit long.
@MikeyjI always love your artwork, it adds quite a bit to my favorite comics site. (I mean, half the time the new strips aren’t worth much, so I have to rely on the classics that people post, or your art, or Number Six’s art, or Buggerlugs with his Pogo posts, to make sure my favorite comics site KEEPS being my favorite comics site…….)I like the copper breaking the fourth wall to look a long sad sigh at the reader for yet another long sad sigh of a long sad Andy Capp night. Your gnome seems to be possessed by the spirit of an enraged polar bear, however……….
Thanks to everyone. I pray for all of you whenever the need arises. And, you all seem to pray for one another. I think this is wonderful. Life is so incredibly complcated now and here is a place for a little simplicity. It makes me feel like we all have this virtual fence and a nice spring morning to share and make the breeze. Although, it could become hot air, ever now an’ agin. I’ll be around, as usual for the next while and won’t be leaving suddenly. The stress is bringing my depression out but I keep my meds on schedule. Anyway, let’s get on with trashing Mr. Capp.

Better than falling over the dog. I did that once. Tripped over my Russian Wolfhound trying to enter the house quietly.

He doesn’t have to apologise to a drunken git like you! Even if he were a real person.
I would take great pleasure in tripping you up.
LOL LOL… Joke. I’m not that mean.

Tripped over the Garden Gnome? Oh that line caused me a monitor covered in coffee! Wasn’t expecting that line! :-D

John Pike, if the surgery will ease your pain, then you must get it done. I wish you the best and a quick recovery.

Yes, Eldo is commenting at different places now, none can be seen and none seem to make sense.
Good morning and all and esp. Gweedo.

When Eldo is “ready” I think he could return with a new name like No. 6 did with No. 2.

May have been the ONLY time.

Only Andy could manage that one, but Flo should know better than to put a Garden Gnome in his way. :)
