Different approaches… same result: it doesn’t work!

They never mention you need a work area four times the size of the finished product. My grandson’s bedroom was too small to assemble a simple computer desk.Damn you, Ikea!!!

I am more like Cathy in that I want to follow the directions, but I just don’t have the patience for “insert tab Q into slot W”. Fortunately my husband will do it, but if he is too busy, I’d rather buy preassembled.Good morning, Cathy clan!

Regarding the Pro discussion yesterday, unless something has changed, you should be able to comment even if you’re not a Pro (unless they’re changing this). I’m fine with paying a little less than $12/year because I get such pleasure from reading the comics that it’s worth the $1/month, and I feel that go comics does a good job on the site and they deserve some support.I’m definitely not pushing the Pro upgrade, but it is worth considering.

I like how sometimes the assembly instructions have obviously been put into English by someone who doesn’t know English very well. It can be very amusing…and frustrating!Susan — your story arc idea is spot on! And Sally — what you said is definitely true in my world. Good afternoon, Cathy Clan.

AACK. Regarding the last panel (and the whole comic, for that matter), I’m just going to slowly back away from them with my hands raised in self-defense. Nut-job alert …

    HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.

Almost as bad as instructions originally written in Chinese, Spanish, French, etc., and translated badly into English are instructions that are needed and yet completely left out. And what instructions ARE provided? A lot of times they’re totally incomplete and make absolutely no sense whatsoever!!!!! :-(

    Hi, rgcviper!

Sally246: My husband is about half and half. If there’s not a lot of pieces when it comes to putting something together, he usually doesn’t bother reading the instructions because it’s usually pretty easy to figure out. But if there are A LOT of pieces involved [or if the item is a brand new piece of electronic equipment he’s unfamiliar with] then he WILL read the instructions to make sure he does everything correctly. Gotta love a man who’s capable of admitting that it IS possible to screw things up royally if you completely ignore the instructions at ALL times!!!!! ;-)

Regarding the PRO account: I don’t have one but I’ve always been able to read and comment daily on Go Comics just fine without it. Is that something that’s about to change . . . get a PRO account or you won’t be able to read and/or comment??? And if you don’t provide G.C. with your credit card number [which they keep “on file”], how do you then pay for the PRO account? If that’s a change they’re definitely about to make, I certainly hope they give us enough warning so we won’t get a really unpleasant surprise when it happens!!!!! :-(

Hi, “Cathy” clan. Hope everyone had a really nice day today!
