If I lived alone like Cathy did for so long it would’ve been really easy to only eat healthy foods because I just wouldn’t buy the unhealthy stuff. It’s a little more difficult as a mom, not that I feed my kids all kinds of junk food but they do need a treat every once in a while. And picky kids aren’t going to eat salad and fish every day. Besides that, I’m just happier eating foods I like. :-) Good morning “Cathy” clan.

I agree Shygirl. Eat the foods you like in moderation. Poor Cathy is such a nut job. And sometimes I am just like her. Ack. Happy Day all.

I don’t even know where to start on this one, so I’ll leave it at a nice, simple …

    AACK!

OK—I’ll toss in an [eye-roll] for good measure.

    HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, Clan.

This is one of the many reasons why people are so overweight / obese these days . . . they continue eating even when they know they’re full and should stop — but they just keep on doing it anyhow!!!!! So sad.

    Hi, rgcviper!

Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow “Cathy” fans. It’s been a very wet weekend where I’m at here in southern Indiana. A little over 6" so far in the last 24 hours — and we’re not done yet! Thankfully we’re dry though; no flooding in our basement whatsoever. Anybody else getting a lot of rain too???

This is an interesting conundrum. The latest studies indicate that a larger number of small meals throughout the day contributes to weight loss best. The reason for this is, if you go a very long time without eating anything, your body thinks you’re starving and switches to “fat storing” mode, whereas if you eat more frequently, your body switches to “fat burning” mode. However, if you eat too many “fast” carbs in one sitting, your body goes back to “fat storing” mode, so this is tricky. So a balance of 1/3 protein, 1/3 “fast” carbs, and 1/3 “slow” carbs (i.e. vegetables) best contributes to weight loss.
