My mom wasn’t much of a cook when I was growing up; life was just too hectic to do much more than open up cans and boxes most days. She got a lot better at it once my sister and I were grown [and gone] and she retired from working and had more time for planning, shopping and cooking.

summerdog: Same thing at my house when I was growing up because my dad smoked like a chimney. He finally quit when he turned 50 [approx. 26 years ago]. It was so nice when my husband and I went over there for visits once that happened. Our clothes and skin no longer stunk afterwards and we didn’t get terrible headaches anymore from the heavy stench of all his disgusting cigarette smoke.

I am so glad Cathy’s Mom is such a good Mom! I hope you all had a nice Sunday. I spent a lot of time taking naps as it was dark and really raining hard here!
