Reading way late tonight due to wonderful Easter party, but wishing lightenup jr. a Happy Birthday after seeing yesterday’s post!

Today’s fathers can take care of themselves if you raised them right.

No, no. Father takes care of himself, AND he does his share with the kids (not “babysitting”, and not “helping out”; DOING. HIS. SHARE.) This isn’t the 1900s anymore!

There’s a lot of truth in that. I hyphenated my kids’ last name because the father and I aren’t married. He went berserk until he saw me in labor with the first one. Ironically, now I wish I had just used his last name, I did with our youngest.

Happy day after Easter Cathy friends! Hope you enjoyed it as I did! Happy belated Birthday jr.!

If the woman is the Major earner then the kids should definitely have her last name. No way should a child be saddled with a dead beat’s last name.

My kids will have my last name. Period. I wouldn’t consider carrying on the patriarchal tradition of naming them as their father’s property.

My daughters’ last names are hyphenated, but they’ve always gone by mine. Does this piss off their mother? I’m not going to ask! Neither is married, either.

I think you should choose which is the best last name (some last names are embarrassing) and go with one last name, with no complicated explanation. The hyphenated name is impractical and burdensome for everyone.

Why are things so simple in concept so headache-inducing in reality? AACK … Of course, I guess a lot depends on how you react to things.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
