We tried in the beginning when she was a puppy to get our dog to sleep in a (dog) bed like this but she just never would. During the day, she sleeps wherever she wants — the floor, chair, couch, fireplace hearth — but at night, she sleeps in a crate by my side of the bed because there’s just not enough room in (our bed) for the three of us and we don’t want her wandering around the house, setting off the security alarm’s motion detectors. As for her getting up on the bed, she’s very tiny (just 7.9 lbs.) and there are no dog steps to help her get up and down on her own, something we did on purpose because she occasionally has seizures and we don’t want to take a chance of her falling off the bed and hurting herself should she have one while she’s laying on it all alone. The only time she’s allowed on the bed is at night with my husband and me while we watch t.v. for a little while before going to sleep. At that point, she then goes into her crate and lays down on a nice, fluffy feather pillow with a stuffed, furry friend to keep her com-pany until time to get up again the next morning.
P.S.: My dog’s favorite word is “cookie” too! :-D
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Hello and Happy Friday, fellow Cathy fans. It’s very rare for me to ever be the first and only person here. Where is everyone, any-how? Hope you all had a really nice day! :-)
Coulda saved a little money there. My cats are never allowed on the bed and rarely in my bedroom because I am allergic to them. I take shots, but I’m still careful. The momma cat and her 14 year old kittens often curl up together in one bed or on the couch. The little 5 year old intruder has to find his own spot….but he gets revenge by jumping into their midst and scattering everyone with a lot of hissing. Then he takes over their bed.
