Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for January 16, 2020
Transcript:
Charlene: Want me to help you file these, Cathy? Cathy: No! New business goes in blue file folders, and we're all out. Charlene: Let's just stick them in yellow for now. Cathy: No! Yellow's for legal! It would mess up the whole system!! Charlene: Red? Cathy: Red's for bills! Green's for memos! I'd rather file nothing all month than mix colors and lose my whole system!!! Charlene: Little chance of this system going anywhere! Cathy: Woe is the non-perfectionist...

Now that’s the greatest (and worst) excuse I’ve ever heard!

For heaven’s sake, go buy the blue ones on your lunch hour! Are you forgetting WHO you are? You’re Cathy…the Shopping Queen!!

Oh, for the love of all that’s holy, Cathy! Unless every single piece of paper on your desk is “New Business,” just set those aside, file everything else in the folders they go in, then go out to an office supply store on your lunch break and buy all the blue folders you need in order to finish filing the rest of your paperwork this afternoon when you get back. Why do you always have to make things so much more complicated than they really ARE?!? :-/

Yes Gretchen’s Mom Cathy does have to make things as complicated as possible! For some reason I see Cathy doing what summerdog says and then spending way more than her lunch hour trying to decide just what shade of blue to get.
I hope all the other non-perfectionists have a great day. Well, I guess perfectionists can have one too.

Wow. I think I’ll just step back slowly with my hands raised in self-defense.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
