You mean they wasted all those minutes before valentines day? I wait for the valentines day sale on February 14th. It’s a clearance, and yes it take a lot of thought to pick the best of what’s left.

OK, this definitely shows what Valentine’s Day means. An obligation to get it over with as fast as you can. If you don’t feel the love…fake it.

A long time ago when we were first married we did the go out for a meal for Valentine’s Day thing. Then we realized that it really was not romantic being in a packed, noisy, restaurant where the service was slow because the staff were overworked. Then, feeling as this is summerdog pointed out, obligated to give her something I brought home flowers for a few years. Then realized that romance should be a two way street so stopped giving gifts or even cards on Valentine’s Day. That was over 35 years ago and we are still married.

Time to go back outside on this warm winter’s day and plow my neighbour’s driveway – after all, it is his tractor I am using while he is relaxing in the sunshine somewhere in Florida. Please enjoy this fine Tuesday.

The Internet—awesome for convenience, and apparently for annoying the flip out of your companions …

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

Why gas stations stock cards, chocolate and flowers on Valentine’s Day.
