I started putting a little away for retirement each month once I turned 30. Payed off quite well even though over 40 years later I am still not retired. I taught my daughters – by showing them the account now and when I started – and they both started putting money away for retirement as soon as they finished school and started working. Even tiny amounts monthly can add up over the years.
I do like this is summerdog’s plan for retirement. I think I will adopt it. Staying alive (whoa – why is there a Bee Gees tune running through my mind) is an excellent plan.
The way Cathy spends money, she’ll have to work until the day she dies because there’s no way in the world she’ll EVER be able to save up enough money to retire on. That’s one of the many hazards of being a shopaholic with no willpower whatsoever. She should seek help for her addiction before she finds herself broke and back to living with her Mommy and Daddy again because she can no longer afford to make the mortgage payments on her house. :-/

Yes. I’m single, and I’m making plans for when I retire sometime in 2033. I’ve been doing that for over five years now!

Dreaming of the future make the present a bit more exciting, however, I decided to live the life I have now.

My plans for retirement only involve staying alive until I retire. Being a housewife extraordinaire, retirement will be never.

It takes two incomes to make such plans these days.

In today’s market you would be horrified what a condo in Florida goes for, let alone Hawaii.

A little planning ahead is often a good thing. Maybe Cathy is eager to join her companions here in a similar situation for herself … ?
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
