Once when moving about 250mi. away with my two cats, they too stopped yowling after about 3 hours…I think they just settled down to meet death which they were certain was imminent. You could see in in their faces. I laugh now, but it was horrible to drive with them at the time!
The first time we moved 1600 miles accross country and drove with our kitty for days, we tried the tranqs, and after the first laced treat she refused all treats. To this day she won’t eat the salmon treats. What made her calmest was at rest stops we’d let her out to sit on the pillow on my lap and she’s just curl up and stare at that EVIL outside world.
My cat Mua yowled until we got on the highway. Then he’d just “murp” as we say once in a while to make sure I knew he was still there. He was calm only on highways though. He hated city traffic.
