True story. I was on a commercial airline getting ready to depart the gate when I saw a guy walk under the plane unrolling some duct tape while looking up at the belly of the plane. Later when the pilot walked by I asked him about it, quietly. He shook his head and said – VERY quietly – “Don’t worry, everything is fine”. The most nerve wracking flight I’ve ever taken.
Probally had to duct tape a bag together in the hold or might have been securing a panel on. Did that myself in Vietnam while in the air Force. You’d be suprised what a plane can fly with.
Reminds me of Red Green (http://www.redgreen.com). “If the women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!”.“The handyman’s secret weapon – duct tape.”
Wasn’t Aussie, but the way I heard it was: If it moves, salute it; if it doesn’t, throw it overboard. If you can’t throw it overboard, then chip and paint it.
