I’d try lower…

Eagles may soar but weasels don’t get sucked into jet turbines. Yes, I know he’s a seagull but it still holds true.

at that point in the last panel, they should both be sucked in, just like superman texting while flying.

Lower looks easier, and climbing higher would reduce velocity terminally.

The plane is coming in to land ;o)

If lower isn’t an option, try flying at right angles to the planes trajectory.

Why not just hop on a wing and ride along?
