I generally don’t get down here until dawn (and today we are all clouded over and everything is wet out there, but I’ve resolved to go to have emissions checked. I need to pass before the 15th so I can renew my license.
@Ling, I saw the message last night and I’m very aware that tofu won’t taste anything like my home roasted free range turkey breast. I might be able to make a marinade/gravy using fresh herbs and white wine to improve the flavor somewhat. Having never tried the stuff, I think it needs to be the “extra firm”. I’m mostly looking for a tasty kind of grain square (biscuit or muffin) as a fairly complete protein with chili or bean salad. Then a salad of greens finishes the meal.I know it will be best if I DON’T try to imitate the flavor of other foods, but accept it as it IS. I definately will also try red and white miso (I’ve observed it used in Iron Chef), and not always by Morimoto, anymore.
pcolli:You work for Ikea? (Jokingly)I too enjoy a good wine. Why use a glass the bottle is just fine.My favorite is Burgundy. (by the Gallon) Went to a friends house (yes surprisingly I do have friends even with my pleasant demeanor) and they served this fancy French wine in this silly looking glass. “Oh” they remarked “this is the way to enjoy it.” I chugged it like a sailor on shore leave. Held out the glass and asked “Gotta bigger one?”Haven’t heard from them in a while. I wonder if they moved??HEheheheheh.
I often wonder why people choose their avatars and “names”. Military connections, I can understand but others…? I’m sure someone’s done a thesis on it for their masters degree but it’s fascinating.
I looked for one that was just a pair of boots under a helmet. It was called the “Short timer” We would count the days till we got out weather it was Nam or just the service. Getting smaller every day till “POOF” gone. Nothing left but boots and a helmet.
I passed the emissions, so now I can pay my registration without further delay. With this chilly rainy day there was very little delay at the testing place ;-)
@vet, I sortof realized I left myself open after typing that, but it IS funny! At least the car is one thing I don’t have to worry about right now. Working on a whole new way of eating is bad enough.
I see that the Ballardeers carry on quite well no matter who shows up! I have been entertained by the comments of the last few days. And so it is with regret that I once again have to log off early and say Good Night Ballarders!StelBel, I have been missing you by miles these days. :-(I love the grape chandelier and mirror Susan. Enjoy your evening all!
Unfortunately, since Lou retired from the Ballard Drug Store and Tractor Repair, he’s just not quite as adept at performing these party tricks as in his younger days…

I’ve never enjoyed any wine that much; a nice little glass of Kalua and Presidente, however, I’ve been known to lick out ;-D
