I’ve always referred to kid’s that i’m fond of as yardapes, anklebiters,carpet crawlers, porch monkeys, mud magnets, virus carriers etc. The few i don’t care for are plain old kids!

Unclebewey — Hate to point this out, but I’ve never heard “porch monkeys” used in reference to children. It’s a racist term, and that’s all I’m going to say.

“When I observe the dog, I come to the conclusion that man is the superior animal. When I observe man…I confess, my friend, I am puzzled.” Can’t remember who said it but it’s good.

On the other hand, us irresponsible scientists believe that monkeys evolved from humans,

The theme is similar to scifi writer Larry Niven, how the Kzinti (alien sentient tigers) refer to humans as monkeys.

Fair enough, Wikipedia can be edited by any old hack. Why don’t we go with a source with more expertise like, say… 99% of all biologists?

Paging Mr. Pedantic; apes and monkeys are two different species types. Monkeys typically have tails whereas apes do not.

Even if humans “evolved” from apes (the notion offends me), I cite George Carlin, “then why do we still have apes?”

This, of course, is in deference to certain members of our populace (which cross all racial boundaries) who are not fit to live in polite civilized society. Take a walk through a Walmart sometime and see for yourself how primitive some people can be or better yet, certain neighborhoods in Chicago (or any major metropolitan city, for that matter).

To say that humans evolved from monkeys is an insult to monkeys.Monkeys would not do some of the things humans have done to other humans.

Well, actually, humans evolved from telephone sanitizers. (Read the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy)

Bonobos are human’s closest simian relatives, not chimpanzees which are often cited as being so.

Wikipedia is a good overview. If you’re looking for more evidence, read Jerry Coyne’s “Why Evolution is True,” Richard Dawkins’ “The Greatest Show on Earth,” and Donald Prothero’s “Evolution: What the Fossils Say, and Why it Matters.”Alternatively, you can believe in a book that starts with a story about an angry wizard in a magic garden with a talking snake, and pretend that that is the way it really happened. Ignorance is bliss!

Good thing the monkeys can’t sue us for defamation.

Odd. I just yesterday saw a scientist arguing that, perhaps, Chimps and bonobos should be in our genus, given the similarities in shape and behavior.
