My kids use amn’t all the time. I know that I ought to “correct” them, but I just can’t bring myself to do so. It is just so sweet, and . . . well, it works for me.

The answer is “That’s right, but we don’t use that contraction anymore, so just use aren’t” Easy cheesy.

I think you wouldn’t use the contracted form, but rather, “Am I not?”
