My dad played trombone and piano but was mostly the band leader in college and for a bit after, until he went into serious business of RE (as that film career fell thru).
I just got up this morning and saw my last post just 8 HRs ago on the other side. My man is King everywhere, all the time. But he still joins me in cooking and in washing up. As to washing up; nothing better than rinsing bubbles off each other from a bubble bath. Yes, that’s where my mind is running as I wake up.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The Roosters and Hens Square Dance Society Convention begins tonight at the Ballard Expo Center and runs through the week-end. There’s still time to register and Stel’s WWOI and Costume Annex has plenty of square dancing outfits in supply, along with the new official hats of the Society.
Contact Nina Nimmers at the Costume Annex for tickets.
(Psssssssttt…. Bev …. Shika? ……the hats are ready, I hope????)
I’m fine with George Burns and Gracie, but I have problems with Lucy and Desi (because the network that aired Show of Shows did not have the foresight to use the new recording media that Desi bought up so most living people have not seen the REAL hilarity! I Even had to buy DVDs of only Sid to get whatever still exists of Imogene.
I really loved the Sing Sing Sing! I was just finishing my workout but had to do the 30 reps quickly (while pausing that). I finish with 30 reps arms fully extended w 5# weights and it’s a little too much to move my feet that fast at the same time. Gets the heart pumping tho’ ;-D
Looks like nobody around. I’ll take that load off the clothes line in a bit; my man Skyped early today; so I was in the silk longjohns. He asked how my weight was doing so I stood up to show him and he said he wants to autograph that shirt (I said that’s OK if I’m in it) Such fun to Skype at any hour! I’ll have one of the swimsuits on next weight workout but they were both in the wash this morning.
I came to say good night. Much as I hate to, I have a very early day tomorrow. Already, it is late for me.I baked a lovely red banana loaf tonight. Everyone help themselves. It tastes wonderful, if I do say so myself. Careful if you are allergic to walnuts though.Munkey, try to leave a piece, or crumbs for others to taste, okay?
I really enjoyed "Sing, Sing, Sing,* Red. Brings back memories. Benny, Gene et al were my dad’s favorite guys. loved Swing. Tommy Dorsey too. And your Grampa played drums for some of those bands? Cool!
My Dad said he wanted to be a drummer like Gene Krupa. He became an ordained minister instead, lol
Oooh! When I bought my red felt hat, Sabras did not have any red boots for women (and I did not have good leather dye at the time) so I painted the white ones with acrylics ;-(Now I have the dyes and if I want to wear them for another party I will do it correctly. Did that other for a company Christmas party held at Rawhide. I also have a red suede fringed skirt (too large now, but it wraps so not a big deal to make it fit).
This crazy diet has too many things I CAN’T have, but as long as the Dr gave me my chocolate back, it’s OK. And in the 2nd week of the purge, I have no flu-like symptoms. One of the things I can’t imagine causing any problems seem to be mostly a concentrate of oregano – very pleasant!
No bananas (or other fruit); I think ripe banana must have more sugar than most. This separation is more difficult (for him too, I guess – talking about writing on my shirt). ;-D This has been too much time already and I may not go there until another summer. His coming here during this bridging season with 80s-90s vs my going to really COLD (Chicagoland at this time of year for me). I will not be using my pool until HOT here (over 115) because then pool is warm enough to be nice without any direct sun.

King Harold has a very limited realm, and it doesn’t extend to the kitchen, either

Stel… when you told me the ladies chose those chicken hats, I thought “oh no!”
But they look wonderful in them!
Nice picture…and kudos to Bev, for designing them…and making soooo many!
I know tonight is the big event…but I’ll buy you guys (and Shika) a daiquiri at the Tiki…I let Fenton know, for next time you’re there.

Oh yeah… and I forgot to thank you, Stel, for getting the Monkey out…when DID he walk near that glitter?
Maybe talking about it gave him an idea….but I dunno…he doesn’t like it in his fur.
I couldn’t even wash him in the regular shower…. all that banana and glitter mess isn’t going down MY plumbing.
I should have him dry and fluffed soon.

Yes, I just saw the square dance – I don’t know HOW Stel manages to paste multiples while rotating (or show from reverse like the furnace).
