Violet was definitely Lucy’s mentor in many ways, but she was never as loud as Lucy.

Don’t worry Violet, people will be glad to see you go too. I guess Sparky was, in a way—Violet didn’t get much strip-time.

Another reality check for Charlie Brown.

I guess she did move eventually – when was she last in the strip?

Patty was no joy, either – not Peppermint Patty, the first Patty who usually hung with Violet.

Violet did grow up , never left the neighborhood and became known as “that crazy cat lady”. ; )

I guess Lucy gave good ‘ol CB enough grief that Violet and Patty weren’t needed for that purpose. And by the time Peppermint Patty and Marcie arrived, there wasn’t a lot of room for two other female characters who were basically “Lucy-lite.”

What does that mean?

What part of that did Charlie Brown not understand in the first place? Lol

Charlie Brown, I would just walk away to let her continue to bore herself. No need for two people to be bored… Anyway, you’ve got other more interesting and more supportive friends such as Linus and Schroeder and, sometimes, even Snoopy…

What about Patty, Violet

Violet was always much meaner than Lucy.

Clearly, you don’t recognize irony and/or sarcasm when you see them.

It’s interesting how the first half of the Peanuts history is dominated by b*tchy girls, Violet and Patty, then the second half by Peppermint Patty and Marcy, who are much nicer, with Lucy becoming a secondary character. I think it may have had to do with the difference between his two marriages. From what I’ve read, the first one was a lot like Lucy (and V and P before her), and the second was possibly more like PP and M, but at least did not have an inner Lucy, to quote herself.
