But my media isn’t like that. Mine is infallibly correct and the sole representative of perfect intellect in the world, not like religious or other closed-minded folk who are basically just witches.
In “The Electric Horseman”, a corporation wants information from a News Dept, but they won’t give it to them. The CEO tells the frustrated lackee, don’t ask the news department, “ask the advertising department and they’ll talk to the News department”. They get the denied info.^According to several sites, this one was the easiest to read, our news services come through a very narrow filter.:http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/who-owns-the-media-the-6-monolithic-corporations-that-control-almost-everything-we-watch-hear-and-read^Extra! Extra! Read all about it!Respectfully,C.
fox news really sucks. after the rutgers coach got fired, they say it was wussification of america. and, one fox news guy admitted that he was hit with a belt as a kid, and he turned out “ok.”
to think only 6 Corporations control the news we read in America. this cartoon shows how that works. and how we have already returned to the days of feudalism.
i hope wiley comes back to Danae and Katy soon. or back to the cafe with his mother
Just a few hundred years ago, most people didn’t know how to read and write well, if at all. They listened to what they what was said; stories were told audibly and in pictures. Wider literacy first came about because of the printing press, and then even wider because industries needed to educate people to work for them..Within a hundred years, I’d bet, once again most people won’t know how to read and write well. Generally available information will once again be audible and pictorial. Every area of life will be connected to an advanced Internet, and communication will be automatic according to people’s perceived needs. Businesses think this will be best for everybody..Will this be a good thing? It will happen, anyway. The longer I live, the more I realize nobody really cares what old people think.
Thanks for that. I’m only here for the fun and really try not to be offensive so I was totally confused by the accusations. I’ll take your advise and just ignore in future.
I stopped watching the evening news years ago. I used to watch it faithfully and watched all 3 major networks, on a rotating basis. Those days are long gone and hard to find. Now, both sides scream and holler and want you to believe it’s only their side of the story that’s the truth. Sprinkle in “news” about those so called celebrities and their minions and you have another reason why not to watch/read the “news.” Again, NEITHER side can hold the high moral ground.
Its not the news anymore it the talk shows like oprah ,ellen, and do not foget the view with bag lady woopie. what they need is a disclaimer lilke drugs. something likeThe views on this show are only half of the story
The trouble with all news is that it is reported as the reporter sees it. If you don’t know what this means, try asking witnesses to an accident what happened and see how many stories you get. When I was in the service, I would refuse to talk to reporters because their releases would not reflect the actual incidents, whatever when they just witnessed it. I would tell them that and what happens? My daughter entered the news business. She did her best work in sports and as managing editor of a newspaper and is currently employed as a Public Information Officer where she sees her words taken out of context by a lot of reporters, some with personal agendas and others from sheer stupidity.
No matter your opinions of the cartoon, you really have to admire Wiley’s art work and attention to subtle detail. I especially like the serf walking his pig on a leash.
My complaint is that We Americans never see or hear about news from other parts of the world, unless it directly affects Americans….No American interest involved? We don’t get to see it.
One other thing, when a big story breaks, for days that is the ONLY story all news outlets cover…..Nothing else seems to happen…..
Who says government can’t do things as well if not better than private industry…..The BBC, is a million times more comprehensive than their corresponding news outlets in the private sector here…..It’s a case of competition dumbing it down…..
Y’all can choose side of the media debate, but they’re all the same in that that they all put their own spin on the news according to their financial backers or ideology. I take every bit of news with a grain of salt.
I like you Night Gaunt. You’re good people. It’s hard to resist provocations. It’s enough to make a person miss Quaaludes. ;) Sincerely,w/ a side of humor.C.
Sign of the times…..actual newspapers going under or going “digital” just to stay in business….I’m sad to say I really MISS reading my comics and other news from the newspaper the old fashioned way.

This hits the nail on the head for all news programs. With 24 hours of news; they have to make up news.

Liberal media. Don’t ask questions, don’t research, don’t tell both sides of the story.
