It’ll turn out to be one of those “dream sequences” so beloved of 60s sitcoms, where the person (Lucy) discovers everyone loves her. Or something like that.
It is so cute! I seem to remember something like this, but not exactly this. There was once Lucy was gone somewhere Shroeder says, “I can’t believe I got used to THAT face.” That was funnier, but this is sadder.
Wow i missed so much of these comics! :( I cant believe there moving! Well actually i saw the special, Awwwwww! Lucy! Schroeder MISSES you! This is the best day ever!
I remember this arc perfectly well. I am a fan of Lucy and Schroeder. This is the single most unforgettable arc for me, a little bittersweet drama… I loved it then and I love it now as a “grown up”!

I don’t remember this arc, but I’m glad to know he didn’t cheap out on us like that. I figured he wouldn’t, Mr Schulz had way too much class.

There was an animated Peanuts special called “Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown”, based on this story arc, which first aired on CBS in 1983.

I don’t remember this one either and I thought I had even read all of the compilations. Poor Schroeder. Poor Lucy. :)

I guess they don’t have a Sunday strip for this storyline… I thought they were moving away.
coreym5 over 11 years ago
I think the Sunday strips pretty much had their own continuity, since years ago a lot of papers just ran the Sunday strips.

Not to worry. This change is not permanent. And no, it’s not resolved as a dream.

Interesting to see Charlie Brown condemning Schroeder for always insulting Lucy. Lucy always insulted him.
