Bread slice: " Well, yes, son, technically they are right when they call you a heel, but remember, Its not who you are on the outside, its what you taste like on the inside"
Hey…. don’t feel bad, little bread heel…come on over to my place…Just sit here by the fire till you’re all warm and tasty…I mean… er… toasty…um….
I know it feels like you’re in a jam… but it’s really pretty sweet….oooh yum…. er… um…I can tell you;re starting to feel butter…I mean better…Just come a little closer….
I always dig out of the middle of the loaf. That’s where the good bread is.You should leave the heels until last. They keep the rest of the bread from drying out. (Or so I was told).

The good news is that employers will think you’re great because you’re the end of the loaf.

I always skip the ends of the loafs then make a sandwich with the two end slides. Does that make it a Heelwich?

Just stay away from the thyme, as it wounds all heels.

Maybe he wouldn’t feel like such a heel if it weren’t for his ill-bread family . . . ☻

I save up my heels to make bread crumbs. But that doesn’t make them crummy, honest!
hippogriff over 11 years ago
MissScarlet: I freeze them until they don’t fit on the fridge door shelf, the cube them, season some butter and toast them. Why buy croutons?

Two heels make a pretty good hamburger bun, in a pinch.

I’d think of something myself, but I just haven’t got the crust.
