Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Panel 1: "Turns out there ISN'T any mandatory retirement age. Mr. Galvin can keep teaching as long as he wants." "Nuts." Panel 2: "Principal Nichols said Mr. Galvin would rather EXPIRE than RETIRE. Panel 4: "How's my HEALTH?"
I think Nate meant âanticlimaCticâ (another word used for it is âunderwhelmingâ â for which too-fussy Francis would have given a class) rather than âanticlimaticâ.
Again, Francis disses on one of Nateâs varied and sundry, yet largely harmless faults. Jeeze-louise, Francis, just leave THIS one alone, and youâll be having less Exedrin-style headaches down the road. Chuckles! Snickers!! And SNOW CAPS!!!
Although Websterâs does say it is usage is American dialectical â in other words, it is a word in common speech, much like âainâtâ it also says that regardless should be used instead.

Whatâs wrong with irregardless and anticlimatic? Theyâre both perfectly cromulent words.

âAnticlimaticâ â so there was no climate in the theater, then. Sounds reasonable to me.

If you want to read fractured phrases, read Get Fuzzy. The cat there lives in a delusional world all his own.

Both of those are, in fact, words. Check dictionary.com for yourself.

Anticlimactic has been around since the 1900s and is, more importantly, recognized by iPad spellcheck. So there.

Irregardless is a word that basically means âdespiteâ. Anticlimatic isnât, but anticlimaCtic is.
